Got away with it.

Got away with it.

I was coming in the ennis road this afternoon about 3.30 ish, tipping away about 90mph on thoul F650, passing cages etc, not going mental just a bit quicker than the traffic when i noticed a cage coming up behind me fairly lively, i kept passing stuff, moving in and out of the fast lane as necessary, took the cage a few minutes to catch up with me but when he got fairly close i noticed the bubblegum machine on his roof !!, ah shite its a feckin squad cage, thought i was done for sure.
I slowed down a bit and they passed me by, the banner (fine bird) in the passenger seat waving me to slow down and mouthing the words "slow down",
I nodded politely and backed it off a bit, fair play , they couldve done me for dodgy driving even if they couldnt prove my speed, i was delighted and appreciative, just thought id let ye know theyre not all bad : :thumbsup2:

By the way just a note about the F650, i got this early in the year cos i reckoned it would be handy for my young lad to use for longish spins rather than his cbr400rr, more comfort, anyway he bought a Z650 so i had the F650 kinda spare, now i got it cheap off jinjaninja on here ( decent skin), cos it needed a little work but its basically very sound.
I started using it recently as my winter hack and im very surprised at just how handy and versatile it is, not fast but itll cruise all day at 80-90mph, its light and fairly flickable with those wide bars, pretty surefooted, comfortable and very handy in traffic cos your up highish and its very easy to maneuvre, for what its standing me im very happy with it, i think ill keep it as a general hack, grand yoke for banging about on and dont have to worry about parking it anywhere or dropping it on shit covered roads etc, its even got a topbox :woots:

For Sale : VAT q

For Sale : VAT q

Might be a silly q but do dealers in NI discount the VAT on second hand bikes sold to southern buyers? I know you are liable for VAT on bikes less than six months old and with less that 6k kms so no real difference on new but once registered in NI does option to not charge the VAT disappear? tnks J

Groms(MX125) across America

Groms(MX125) across America

Quite the adventure I’d say, from another forum, shortest way ( via freeway 3110 miles)

Quote:

Met these guys from Houston on a recent trip to the PCH. They rode their Groms from Miami to San Francisco. I met up with them at Half Moon Bay. They were on the road for 28 days with couple day stops in Denver and Las Vegas. These weren’t little guys, either.

I followed them from HMB to SF with the intention of getting a hotel were they were staying, and doing a bit of partying to celebrate the end of their adventure. No dice, hotels were booked for 2 weeks advance by the SF airport. I got their numbers and told them I’d keep in touch. Very nice dudes. I asked how they felt now that it’s all over. They looked a bit sad.

Groms performed flawlessly being WOT all day for a month. They changed the oil once. The lighter guy had the one with exhaust and lowered/stretched. He would slowly pull away. After an hour or so, he’d be half a mile out front. Slowest I saw was 41 going up big hills, close to mid 60’s going downhill. I think I was told that the highest MPG was 107.
