Fairing (ABS) welding

Fairing (ABS) welding

Well lads,

part of the NC30s fairing came off at speed. I don’t know how but apart from being ‘broken’, they’re in almost perfect condition, ie: no road rash at all, only two major breaks. Found the normally 2 piece fairing, in 3 bits on top of the ditch and a bit left on the bike. Not that I have a clue about what’s a write off and what’s recoverable, I want to figure out if I can get them fixed. I had a look online and through old posts on this site and there was talk about a foreign guy from Dublin who was quite good at ABS plastic welding but I emailed his business a week ago and nothing. So long story short, can anyone recommend someone who has a GOOD reputation for fixing ABS plastic? I’ll buy OEM replacements if needs be but I really want to fix the original fairings, sentimental value and all!!!

Thanks,
2fiddy

Want to get a slipper clutch for a fireblade race bike. Looking at sigma and stm. Was offered an stm one at handy money. Anyone using them on track bikes used either or both types or have any useful input!?

Bloody auto correct

Bloody auto correct

A man received the following text message from his neighbour.

Neighbour: I am so sorry Harry. I’ve been riddled with guilt and I have to confess. I have been helping myself to your wife, day and night when you’re not around. In fact, more than you. I do not get it at home, but that’s no excuse. I can no longer live with the guilt and I hope you will accept my sincerest apology with my promise that it won’t ever happen again.

Harry, anguished and betrayed, went into his bedroom, grabbed his gun, and without a word, shot his wife and killed her.

A few moments later, a second text came in.

Neighbour: Bloody auto correct! I meant "wifi", not "wife" . ….

Recommend back protector jacket insert

Recommend back protector jacket insert

Hey guys

I recently got an alpine stars andes jacket, very warm and waterproof, but comes with no back protector.

I was wondering what kind of back protectors people are using?

These vary wildly in price so would be interested to know what people think and what they have used. :biggrin_old:

would I be mad?

would I be mad?

I’ve been looking for a Yam 660 tenere for a while and while there are a good few in the UK I’ve been offered one with lots of mods at a great price but it is near the South of France. I can fly over, collect the bike and ride it 9 hours to Cherbourg for an 18 hour ferry crossing and then four hours to my house. It’s November, I’d be on my own and I’m saving €600 with everything taken into account.

Would you do it?

Bmw 1100gs ABS Bypass?

Bmw 1100gs ABS Bypass?

Did a search, couldn’t find anything, nothing overly specific on Google either.
Would like to know if anyone has any experience with removing the ABS from one of these-is it as easy as getting the standard length lines off a non- ABS bike and going direct from the master cylinders to the calipers, bypassing the modulator/pump entirely,or is there a bit more to it?I was looking to replace my front lines(back done already),and I found a full non ABS set for half the price of the ABS front, besides,I don’t particularly like the ABS on the bike.
Any insight and advice appreciated.:thumbsup2:
