isle of man tt 2012 “a dangerous addiction”

Documentary by Simon McGregor-Wood and film maker David Niblock, both motorcycle racers, on the 2012 Isle of Man TT. The Isle of Man TT is described as the world’s most dangerous race. Margins for error are almost too thin to calculate. A crash at the TT means almost certain death. Riders reach speeds of over 200mph through village streets, past lamp posts, bus stops and sharp-edged stone walls. If they get it wrong here, there is nowhere to go. Following TT rookie and privateer John Ingram on his first ever TT. Interviews with Rickard ‘Milky’ Quayle, race team owners Wilson Graig & Hector Neill and riders Gary Johnson, John McGuinness, Guy Martin and William Dunlop

Gary Cowan in the 1989 grand prix trail on the Dutch backed production TZ 250 Yamaha, in the superbike races. The organisers tried to talk him out of it, pointing out that Ron Haslam was bringing the Pepsi Cola RG 500 suzuki, Brian Morrison on the 750 RC Honda, Steve Cull with the super fast rotary Norton, Eddie Laycock aboard his 500 GP Honda etc. However, Gary brought the 250 to the line in 3rd place.
